Privacy Policy

Last updated November 5, 2026

We keep this short, and we keep it honest. Here is what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how 1991 Estate (“1991,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit 1991estate.com (the “Site”), join our allocation list, or get in touch with us. By using the Site you agree to this policy.

1991 is a small-production Napa Valley wine brand based in Napa, California. Questions about this policy can go to hello@1991estate.com.

2. Information we collect

  • What you give us. Your name and email address when you join the allocation list, and anything you include when you write to us, such as a trade, press or general inquiry.
  • If you place an order. When orders are offered through the Site or a partner, we or our service providers will also collect shipping and billing details, a phone number, and what is needed to confirm that you are of legal drinking age.
  • What our servers record. Like most websites, our hosting records technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page and the pages requested. We use it to keep the Site secure and working.
  • Age confirmation. The age confirmation on our home page is a courtesy gate. When you confirm, your browser keeps a small note on your device (in local storage, not a cookie) so we do not ask you again for a year. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. If you decline, nothing is stored.

3. How we use information

  • to add you to the allocation list and tell you about releases, allocations, tastings and events;
  • to respond to your questions and trade inquiries;
  • to offer and fulfill allocations and orders, including confirming age and complying with federal and state alcohol beverage laws, direct-to-consumer shipping rules, and excise and sales tax requirements;
  • to operate, secure and improve the Site; and
  • to meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. Email

If you join the allocation list we will send you emails about the wines. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us at hello@1991estate.com to be removed. We will honor your request promptly and within ten business days. We may still send you messages about an order you have placed.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these ways:

  • with service providers that work on our behalf, such as website hosting, email delivery, e-commerce and payment processing, shipping carriers, and fulfillment and compliance partners, who may use the information only to provide their services to us;
  • with licensed wholesalers, distributors and retailers when an inquiry or order is fulfilled through the three-tier system, and only to the extent needed to complete it;
  • with regulators, courts or law enforcement when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others; and
  • with a successor, if 1991 is ever merged with or acquired by another business.

6. Alcohol industry records

Federal and state alcohol beverage laws can require producers, importers and shippers to keep records of sales, shipments and recipient age verification for a number of years. We may keep those records even after you ask us to delete other information.

7. Cookies and third-party services

The Site does not currently set advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage only for the age confirmation described above. The Site’s typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address and browser information when a page loads. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will describe them here.

8. Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. You may also ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion and correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither); and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Residents of other states with privacy laws may have similar rights.

To make a request, email hello@1991estate.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity first, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request for you.

9. Adults only

The Site is intended for adults of legal drinking age (21 or older in the United States). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires.

11. Other sites

The Site may link to websites we do not operate, including those of retailers, distributors and press. They have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Where information is processed

We operate in the United States. If you visit the Site from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept it.
